Historic Buildings With New Life

Since 2015, CitiLeases has focused on acquiring, restoring, and managing some of Elgin's most character-filled properties — from grand historic mansions to award-winning Art Deco apartments.

We are not a large corporate apartment company. We are local owners who care deeply about architecture, neighborhoods, craftsmanship, and the people who call these buildings home.

Douglas Grand

Referred to in 1892 as the “Red Brick Flats,” Douglas Grand was once the largest building of its kind in the region — a striking symbol of Elgin's growing prosperity and architectural ambition.

Douglas Park

A thoughtfully preserved collection of vintage apartments and historic homes built between 1872 and 1922, reflecting the character and craftsmanship of Elgin's most enduring neighborhoods.

Raymond Place

Originally built in 1890 for employees of the famed Elgin Watch Company, this charming village of homes overlooks the company's historic observatory — one of Elgin's most fascinating industrial landmarks.

Spring Street Studios

A beautifully restored 1938 Art Deco building in downtown Elgin, designed by renowned architect Elmer Gylleck — who, remarkably, also performed as a magician alongside Houdini during the golden age of stage illusion.

Mountain Street Mansion

Commanding one of the highest points overlooking Elgin, this grand 1870 mansion was established by Mayor W.C. Kimball and remains one of the city's true architectural treasures and historic landmark properties.
